Magnetic Magazine

I grew up in southern California and lived and traveled around the world, which has given me a wide lens of inspiration. I was on staff at BPM magazine for 13 years. Originally coming on as a contributing writer, I worked my way to the top of the masthead, associate publisher. I held that title for both BPM and street culture magazine, Vapors. In addition to my tenure overseeing print publications and online properties for Overamerica Media Group, I co-founded lostinasupermarket.com, an online art / music / lifestyle magazine. Current obsessions include: Discovering work and artists that shun boundaries of medium and time; Producing editorial with substance and balancing it with the immediacy of the Internet; Staying one step ahead of and outside of trends.
Before the world of publishing, I spent six years in the Navy as an Emergency Medical Technician. I was stationed with the Marines and did some time in Somalia and Operation Desert Shield where I earned a few medals and commendations. Although creatively stifling, I thank my military career for giving me my work ethic, discipline, organizational skills, teaching me the importance of paying attention to the details and the value of trust and teamwork. I was all set to continue down the emergency medial path when I got out, but here I am today… a results-driven professional with 13+ years experience in a progressive management role supporting complex/deadline driven operations.
